MCT Performing Arts Camp 2011

From acting to Zumba, there’s “No Biz Like Show Biz!”

Missoula, MT — Each year the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) International Tour staff nominate kids from around the world for Performing Arts Camp. Kids in grades 7-12 send in their applications and audition tapes, and approximately 200 kids selected to attend the camp. This year Performing Arts Camp presents an upbeat, lighthearted show filled with Broadway Tunes: “No Biz Like Show Biz.”

“The show theme celebrates the different professions that make up the Performing Arts,” says Joe Martinez, artistic director at MCT. “The cast will explore poetry, dance, mime, melodrama, storytelling, and musical theatre.” Kids rehearse for 10 days up at Flathead Lake, and return to Missoula for their final performances.

“No Biz Like Show Biz!” performances will be held at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, August 18 at 8:00 p.m.; Friday, August 19 at 5:00 and 8:00 p.m.; and August 20 at 1:00, 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. For tickets call (406) 728-7529 or visit www.mctinc.org.
