Playdate Create – Virtual!
Missoula Children’s Theatre PLAYDATE CREATE
Despite these challenging times, we’re excited to have the opportunity to share our newest virtual program, PLAYDATE CREATE! Here’s the scoop:
PLAYDATE CREATE is an electronic kit – accessible online – which provides you and your staff the materials needed to produce your own theatre experience with up to 30 local children. The materials in the PLAYDATE CREATE kit are designed to guide anyone with little to no experience in theatre to produce a 20-minute musical. The kit also includes acting workshops and theatre crafts should you prefer to provide performing arts activities without the pressure of producing a musical.
What We Provide:
- Login information to gain access to all digital materials.
- A 20-minute script, written specifically for PLAYDATE CREATE that can accommodate up to 30 local children grades K-12 – we’re currently offering the title Johnny Appleseed.
- Curriculum broken down into three areas:
- Process workshops: acting activities that can be done in 15, 30, or 45-minute increments that would benefit the production or can be done just for fun.
- Production activities: craft projects that would benefit the production or can be done just for fun.
- Rehearsal sessions: detailed guidelines for rehearsing a show including a rehearsal schedule, a detailed breakdown of what to accomplish in each rehearsal, a detailed blocking script, and more.
- Rehearsal and performance tracks.
- Choreography videos.
- Materials to create props and scenery to enhance your production.
- PLAYDATE CREATE T-shirts (up to 30 are included with each kit).
- Three 30-minute coaching sessions with an MCT professional Actor/Director via Zoom or Google Meet.
- All planning and publicity materials including press release, graphics, flyers, posters, and program.
- Shipment of T-shirts and supplementary scenery materials.
What You Provide:
- PLAYDATE CREATE fee of $1750 plus any transaction fees.
- Preferred timeframe for receiving kit.
- T-shirt order including #’s and sizes.
