The Addams Family Young@Part is a ‘snap-snappy’ 65- minute version of the ridiculously popular Broadway musical, adapted especially for a cast of teens who will introduce you to all the kooky and creepy characters you know and love.  Gomez and Morticia Addams and their wacky family strive to fit into the non-kooky, non-creepy neighborhood as they grapple with the fact their daughter, Wednesday, has fallen in love with a ‘sweet, respectable’ boy from school.  Bringing the two families to meet for a lovely dinner was a great idea until family secrets, having been locked away, are revealed after a series of mishaps and intentional trickery threaten to ruin relationships.  A storm plunges them into darkness and the evening is headed towards disaster.  Can they all find common ground? (above-ground, that is).

“Fairies and love spells and donkeys, oh my! Dive into the enchanted world of Shakespeare’s zaniest comedy. While we at MCT love to think outside the box, our new “Shakespeare Trunk Show” program thinks inside the box; everything in the play must fit inside the only set piece- a trunk! A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the colorful adventure of four young lovers, a group of actors who shouldn’t quit their day jobs, and some impish fairies clumsily playing matchmaker. This ever-popular classic is a tribute to the Bard’s brilliance, exploring the complexities of the human (and inhuman) heart in the whimsical style of magical realism. Our accessible adaptation is 60-minutes of love triangles, squares, hexagons, you name it, and all creatively and simply brought to life through imagination, teamwork, and just a little bit of magic! Get ready to giggle like an Elizabethan and party like it’s 1594!”

The Missoula Children’s Theatre presents Alice in Wonderland, an original adaptation based on Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. The story begins with Alice and her older sister Margaret reading together. Margaret becomes frustrated, as Alice is curious about absolutely everything. Suddenly, a White Rabbit appears from nowhere. After a quick and nonsensical conversation, Alice follows the rabbit to a strange and wonderful place. In the course of her adventures, Alice meets a band of Flowers, the King and Queen of Hearts, the Knave and the rest of the suit of Cards, a giant Caterpillar, a Fish, a Frog, the Duchess, the Cook, the Cheshire Cat, the Gryphon, the Mock Turtle, a group of singing Lobsters, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, the March Hare, the Mad Hatter, the Dormouse and Humpty Dumpty. Through it all, Alice grows “curiouser and curiouser” as to where she is and even who she is. In the end, the answers she seeks are unimportant. Wonderland is all nonsense, anyway.
As the White Rabbit explains, “Nonsense is fun!”

When it comes to great musicals, there’s none quite like Singin’ in the Rain, an award-winning, hilarious extravaganza of comedy, singing, and dance. The story takes place in 1920s Hollywood, when ‘movies’ become ‘talkies’ and throw the silver-screen industry for a loop. Don Lockwood was a cinematic sensation alongside leading-lady Lina Lamont, always glamorous and refined in their films together. But when microphones are added to the mix, Lina’s nasally, grating voice spells big problems for the studio. A talented starlet comes into Don’s life, and they take big risks to make their next movie a hit, risks that could make or break their careers. Spectacular musical numbers and snappy vaudevillian comedy keep Singin’ in the Rain “The Greatest Movie Musical of All Time,” according to the prestigious American Film Institute. This show, lovingly adapted by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, is sure to delight with that old Hollywood glitz and glamor.

When a group of astronauts comes through town, Curly Hare comes up with their kookiest stunt ever – to be the first animals on the moon! Well, talking animals, anyway. Taylor Tortoise and Curly Hare race to build a rocket and beat the other to space, but will their rivalry drive away their friends in the process? Who will make it to the moon first?
