What if?

Those two words holds immeasurable possibilities and are the very reason that MCT exists.

We’ve been talking about MCT’s 50th Anniversary since the summer of 2020, but it seems only fair to get a complimentary extension, after what we’ve experienced over the last year. So, let’s continue to celebrate the milestone of MCT’s anniversary year a little bit longer, with a question.

What if the pandemic never happened? Well, at MCT we would have celebrated with Mimosas for Musicals, summer PAC receptions, a season of Premiere Night catered parties, 90+ Tour Actor/Directors crisscrossing North America and overseas in the little red trucks and created more memories on and off stage together.  Instead, we’ve been mostly apart.

MCT has, however, been tenacious in keeping the local children’s programs going, and starting back out on the road with several tour teams this winter/spring. Persevering through protocols that can change in a moment has been a yearlong lesson in ‘improv’–the flexibility to show creativity despite the changing scenes. This exercise has allowed MCT to successfully help develop new memories and much-needed FUN to so many young people.

What if we didn’t have you, our friends and supporters, to stick out this time with us? That’s an awful question to consider, so let’s not. What we know is that you’ve been patient and passionate in the belief the show will go on when its safe. You’ve shown MCT your heart, shared your resources and passion, and given us courage to look ahead and prepare for the better days coming. Thank you so very much and keep your eyes open for our next community show announcement. Until then…

What if you shared your MCT story with us so we can continue to celebrate every day?
